Kyukyodo Rakuka - Japanese Calligraphy Brush Pen
The easiest way into Japanese calligraphy is a brush pen.
Made by Kyukyodo, a Kyoto stationery house established in 1663. The Rakuka is their brush pen for kana calligraphy, the flowing, curved script of classical Japanese writing. The tip is synthetic hair, fine to medium width, designed to respond to pressure the way a traditional brush does. Press lightly for a thin line. Press into the paper for a broader stroke.
It works for kana practice, envelope addressing, gift tags, journal headers, and any situation where you want a brushstroke without setting up a full ink practice. Compact enough to carry anywhere.
Sourced from Kyukyodo, Kyoto.
