Hyoraku Japanese Ink Stick - Sumi Ink Stick by Kobaien, Kyoto

95.00 NIS

A working ink stick from Kobaien, one of Japan’s most respected ink makers, in business since 1577.
Hyoraku is a carbon soot ink with a deep, neutral black. It is consistent and reliable.

Grind it slowly with a small amount of water on an ink stone. The ink you make is yours to control, thin for washes, dense for solid lines.
Suitable for calligraphy practice, sumi-e painting, and mixed media work.

Sourced from Sekaido, Tokyo’s most established fine art supply store.
Comes in original red marbled presentation box.
2 units available.
